Stripe

1998 | Golan Levin

Stripe

Stripe (1998) allows its user to paint "chemicals" into a reaction-diffusion simulation. Such simulations are believed to model the formation of leopard spots and zebra stripes; here, their result is a kaleidoscopic pattern of subtly-evolving gradients. (References: Meinhardt 1982; Turk 1991).

Stripe can be experienced in this interactive Java applet.
